  • Notes
    • Isaac Hopkins came to Jeddore as a young man on a sailing vessel. He was attracted to Jeddore and his father later relocated his family to the area. Isaac and John Maskell (father in law) petition on 24 March 1824 for land on Jeddore Lake and was granted land. He first built a house in East Jeddore for his family but tore it down because he feared it was haunted by ghosts. He rebuilt the house a mile away but tore it down, too. Finally, he built his house a third time near Baker's Point. He was a carpenter but also a justice of the peace according to the Ambrose Church map of Halifax County in 1865.
(Eastern Shore Families: East and West Jeddore by Kim Stevens pages 115-16)

Some family trees include two more children (Howard and Herman) for Isaac and Elizabeth Hopkins, but I can't find any records of them.
